K-ON

Plot Summary: It's sort of like if you took Lucky Star, threw in a music club and made Konata Izimu the leader. Confused? Don't be it's a simple plot, one girl entering High School wants to join a club but is unsure which one to join. When she here's about one club that's about to fall apart, she's interested because this will make the leader. So far the characters look interesting but it has a lot of it's over the top moments that are hit and miss. There was this one part where they reeled off about 25 of the greatest drummers of all time and I just did one of those "Fuck Yeah" faces.

The good: They had a lot of those moments where you made a "herp a derp" faces in a good way and it's one of those anime's where you gotta go with the flow. It has good music (so mellow man) and it's one of those anime's where I laid back and smiled.

The bad: The only thing that's bad is that some of the stuff was really hit and miss, you either laughed or you didn't.

This is an anime you need to check out to determine whether or not you like it, it's a rare "you either hate it or love it" and I'm an extremely rare "unsure".

Dead Man Wonderland

*I may have figured out what I am going to do, I will review anime/manga and tell you to buy or skip, let's see if this works!*

Plot Summary: Dead Man Wonderland is a manga about a teenage boy who is falsely accused of slaughtering his entire class instead of the "red man". As he enters the only privately owned and operated prison in Japan with the death sentence on his head, he learns this is no ordinary prison. Struggling to survive, and proving his innocence he learns there is a lot more to Dead Man Wonderland than you'd think.

The good: First of all the artwork was simply incredible, it was stylish and had a distinctive look for anime. I especially like how there's always something going on in the background and foreground creating a very nice look. Second, the story kept me interested, they always introduced some character properly and made sure you knew their personality. My favorite character has to be "The Original Sin" that guy is just BAD ASS without being an asshole.

The bad: I felt the opening was rather...clunky, we get off to a start making it seem like a slice of life anime, but then we are rushed through the trial, accusations and etc. and are dropped into Dead Man Wonderland. I suppose this was done on purpose, so we could get into the main characters shoes, showing how he felt about the whole ordeal. Secondly, some of the happenings in the first volume feel like they have ADD, their in the cafeteria, whoops now their in the race! It felt a little off for me thats all.

Summary: Even though I emphasized greatly on how it felt a clunky at the beginning I do love this manga and I am definitely getting the next volume next chance I get. I think you should check it out and it's most definitely worthy of a buy.

So Sorry, would you like a cookie?

*Sorry for my lack of posts but with the Holidays and whatnot it's almost impossible to have a few spare minutes*

I like to try something new with my blog. Rather than spending an hour doing research and such, causing me to miss several blogs I will try to do some short segments and such, anime you need to check out, manga you need to check out, great anime character, great moments in anime stuff like that. So let's get cracking

Death Note

"I am righteous!" L/Light Yagami Chapter 2

"I just can't stand when someones cell phone rings when I am talking" L Chapter 11

"I feel like I'm watching a sitcom" Ryuk

Death Note is one of the most interesting and complex manga of ALL time. The plot goes like this: Light Yagami is a high school student on the right track, number one student in Japan. But he's bored, really bored. So when he get his hands on the Death Note (a notebook that kills people) and realizes that he can cure the world of hate he starts to kill. That alone makes me adicted but considering our two main characters (L and Light) it gert even better.

The good: The characters in this series are great each with their own unique personality, and traits. The plot is pure awesome notebook that kills someone? Sign me up. The art style is FANTASTIC it has that realistic/anime looks that's hard to explain. The pacing is excellent although it got just A TAD bumpy at times they always kept the plot moving making sure to keep our interest. Some of my favorite parts our the death note rules, it's really cool how they explain the death note in great detail and at times it fixes some plotholes (though other times it may create a minor one)

The bad: Some of the explanations can get complicated and whilist I followed it all pretty well, most people get lost with the explanations. Another thing I liked less than some other parts (but I still loved) was the first part of the series. Most people stopped reading after L died (it wasn't that bad it was great) I however LOVED Near and Mello even more than L. L got a little to blandish at times for me (though he's still my favorite anime character of all time) and could get a little to eccentric.

This time they turned me into a newt...I got better

Hiya now I don't have time to do a post today so here's a fanfic I made hope you enjoy!!!

*authors note, this is my very first fanfic, and I'm more of drawer than a writer, so constructive criticism would be appreciated*

Chapter 1: Last Midnight Tear

The sun was setting in The Hidden Leaf Village casting shadows over the entire village. There was only so many minutes of sunlight left, half of the sky had even gone dark and a few stars had begun to shine. There was going to be a full moon though so it might be exceptionally bright out if there weren't too many clouds. Hinata was panting heavily and she was sweating and exhausted but determined to keep training till she collapsed, so she focused her chakara. She was in one of the villages forests' and she was in this little area with tall, bright red flowers, trees surrounding the area.

Focus, She thought. She felt a burst of energy and activated her byakugan.

"Eight Trigrams, Protective 64 Palms!" She cried. She spun in place and started to cut the flowers at a precise level, eyes closed (though that did not matter with her byakugan activated) she heard the distinct slitch, slitch, slitch as she cut the flowers in the quiet night. She stopped and then spun around and open her eyes. She saw someone, about 10 yards away and she took an offensive pose.

"Who's there?" Hinata shouted, piercing the air.

"Good eyes," came a firm, but feminine voice "I was hoping I could do a surprise attack in the night but no avail with your byakugan activated eh?" she approached Hinata and she was about 2 yards away. Hinata deactivated her byakugan to preserve chakara but maintained her stance.
"Who are you?" Hinata said, she was worried this person said she had the intention of attacking her and she was low on chakara, she had been training for a few hours now.

"Oh, ehem, forgive me how rude, my name is Akane," She glanced around at the red flowers "appropriate name eh?" (Akane means brilliant red in japanese) she took a step towards Hinata. Hinata finally got a good look at her since she stepped into the moonlight. She had striking blue hair and calm green eyes, a decent sized chest, thin, but clearly muscular arms, and good legs. She was wearing a small necklace with a symbol that said water, a short sleeved dark purple shirt with a weird symbol on it, a black skirt, and a armband with the Village Hidden in the Sand symbol. Her shoes were sneaker like and good for combat. Most of the would be bare skin on her arm was covered with pouches clearly loaded with kunai, shuriken, and other ninja tools.

However Hinata only had an instance to observe all this because just a fractionth of a second after she said stepped towards her she whipped a shuriken at her. Hinata dodged it at the last second.

"Pleased to meet you." Akane said, grinning madly.

"What are you doing?" Hinata said fearfully.

"Getting my revenge!" Akane said angrily.

Akane charged at her with a kunai Hinata spun in place. Hinata activated her byakugan and took a stance.

"Gentle Fi--"
"Oh no you don't!!!" Akane spat out. She cut made a deep cut in Hinata thighs but sill made her cry out in pain, regardless she stayed focused. She found it in her strength to ignore the serious wound. She charged at Akane, who had her back to Hinata and pulled back to strike her. Akane spun out of the way just in time and stood in the perfect spot to strike Hinata in her head, however Hinata dodged it and instead got nicked on the shoulder blades.

"How did you..?" Hinata asked, gripping her shoulder. Akane grinned and in the shadows ran her fingers through her hair.

"You really don't see it?" She had to step into the moonlight again for Hinata to notice it, she gasped in surprise. Her veins were popped out just like with a byakugan.

*END of chapter one. I do have a few things planned for this story Akane will get her own back story (here's a tease the Uchiha clan will also get involved) and unique fighting style and there will be a (hopefully if my writing skills improve and whatnot) epic battle.*

Narutard and Proud of it!

Hello again, I have good news, I just may get a "job" on an anime review site although this has yet to be confirmed. I'll be sure to let you guys know about this.

Naruto Going Green: Recently the Naruto manga officially sold over 100 million books in Japan and to celebrate the creators are going to create "Naruto's Forest". They are going to plant in total 7,610 trees on Japanese mountainsides. Indeed, they will continue to care for the trees for about ten years until they are able to survive on their own. This not only shows that the creators care about the environment (and are trying to plant back the paper they used) but also that they realise what a good milestone this is. In addition people can submit art and maybe receive "a tree" in their name. They'll receive information and a number so they can locate their tree. Personally, I'm just glad they're giving back to the environment.

Legal Scanlations: We all know scanlations are much more of a hassle than illegal uploads for anime, considering most animes you can legally view on site's like Crunchyroll or Hulu. However when it comes to manga scans we're talking a whole new ballpark. Very few sites can claim they legally distribute scans of manga especially mainstream ones. However one site plans on doing so. Digital Manga Publishing says they plan on opening up a site that legally distributes digital manga. However they plan on maker sure owners get their fare share of the pie. My only issue is that from rumors it seems the site will revolve around yoai and yuri. There's nothing wrong with either genre but, establishing the fact that I'm a hetrosexual male, obviously I prefer the later genre. Still it's good to know some sites are cleaning up their act. Many website's are still doing illegal scanlations and are being met with a lawsuit, when it has mostly legal scanlations though. Hopefully this is one website that will work out.

(WARNING: This article contains some explicted language) Hentai Anyone?: Getting to something a few days old it seems Japan is looking to revise the "Nonexistent Youth" Bill. What is this Bill again? Well basically it restricts certain types of porn, namely anime, manga, etc. etc. Basically if it revolves rape or incest or something of that variety. Although it's not too specific, I'm guessing it would either raise the minimum age to view porn in Japan or it would censor it even more so than they do now. I'm not going to try to get into to much detail for the sake of my mental health. But the reason we do have to worry is that some manga with genuine plotline and simply have hentai just for hentai's sake or because it's relative to the plot might be censored or cut out, making the story confusing. Although I havn't read any manga like that I have heard of some good ones that might have to be worried because of this bill. Personally though as long as it doesn't get in the way of my Pantsu I don't care. (Just kidding)

Best Selling Manga in America (According to the New York Times)
#1 Naruto Volume 48
#2 Vampire Knight Volume 10
#3 Bleach Volume 31
#4 Hellsing Volume 10
#5 Black Butler Volume 2
#6 Yu-Gi-Oh! R Volume 5
#7 Alice in the Country of Heart Volume 3
#8 Negima! Master Negi Magi Volume 26
#9 Naruto Volume 47
#10 Battle Angel Alita: Last Order Volume 13

A few comments about the bestseller list actually. I'm thankful that Naruto is up there with two volumes. I'm also thankful that I'm confirming how popular Black Butler is, reassuring myself to check it out. I'm going to start getting my allowance again next week so that's when I'll review Bleach Volume 31 and maybe Naruto. I'm also sort of surprised Yu-Gi-Oh is up there. I had no idea it was THAT popular. Oh well...

Hey, this time I really died and it took me 5 days to respawn.

Once again I apologise for my absence, this will hopefully be the last time I do this since Summer Vacation is now officially begun for me.

Alive Manga Writer Dies: We begin today on a rather sad note. The writer of the often praised manga series Alive,
passed away due to liver cancer. I did read some of the series but not all of it, and from what I read it seemed pretty good! What seems even worse is that Tadashi Kawashima, has been on his sickbed for months and finished the series whilst on his sickbed. This man had such a passion for Manga that he even began another series as he approached his deathbed with liver cancer. I say we all have a brief moment of silence for a fellow otaku. . . You could do even more good by checking out the Alive series as well.

Black Butler still on the Rise: The new anime/manga series Black Butler appears to be on the rise. Almost unknown a few months ago it is quickly becoming a popular series and major clothing companies have taken notice. The afaimed "emo store" Hot Topic is introducing a line of Black Butler clothing. Not like costumes you understand, just apparel with the Black Butler logo. All that appears to be available so far though is just a shirt (varying in sizes) with the main character on the front. I havn't seen or read the Black Butler series yet, but maybe now I should check it out.

One Piece Jeans: Sticking to the topic of clothes in Japan it appears they released a series of jeans with "I'm going to be king of the pirates" on the buttocks. The jeans also comes with the Luffy emblem on the jeans as well as a few other trademarked One Piece symbols. I have to say, this is more good news for us otaku's considering most merchandise we want is only available online and anime clothing seems to be becoming more the norm for some stores at least. Hopefully they'll import some of the clothing to America.

Still alive

My finals are almost over, but I don't really have time to post any news so I'll just a do a quick Top Ten!!!

Top Ten Anime Girls

Anime Girls...Well to put it quite simply: Anime: come for the girls, stay for the plot. That's the way it is, there over sized bozongas and likeable personalities make us keep coming back. So I'm gonna count down the top ten anime girls today. Two rules though: one girl per series, and looks can only count for so much, so they actually have to do something in the series. With that said let's get started.

10) Nami from One Piece
What is not to like about Nami? She's a great warrior, a rich ass girl, a redhead, and she's not afraid to accept any challenge, especially if it involves money. Best of all, she's useful all the time in the One Piece series! The reason she ranks rather low on the list? Bitch would steal ma money!

9)Yoko from Gurren Lagann
Although I stopped the series short due to money issues, she seemed to be quite a useful character. And this time I'm keeping it short and sweet, boobies and guns...nice

8) Izumi Konata from Luck Star
The main character of this epic comedy series, she is perfect, the girl for me, a lazy otaku, that plays video games, and does one night cram sessions, she is just awesome. Only one thing...she in the 11th grade and she looks 8 years old...and shes flatchested. But, she is still epic so I give her a place on this list.

7) Winry Rockbell from Full Metal Alchemist =
Although it's hard to say if she's useful in Full Metal Alchemist, she's certainly a key part of it considering she fixes Edwards Auto-Mail and (by accident) saves him on one occasion, so it's safe to say she does something in the series. With that said she's basically the equivalent of Yoko, not to sound too sexist but, a girl mechanic? Nice hehe.

6) Yoruichi Shihoin from Bleach
Masculine voice aside, Yoruichi is pure awesome, she can turn into a cat, she knows how to flaunt her body (without being to in your face about it like Rangiku Masumoto, who is basically a whore). She is constantly a key part of the series (or at least she was for a few arcs) and I'm just gonna say it, my favorite scene with her is when she puts on that black sweater when she transform into a human in front of Ichigo...damn...nice...

5) Misa Amane from Death Note
Now a running theme from Death Note is that female characters are weak and useless, but Misa Amane is an exception, sort of. She does play a key role being "used" constantly and does many things about halfway through the series, playing the part of Kira for a while. With that said Misa Amane (or as we call her in da hood daaaaaaamn (with apologies to storm dain)) is AWESOME she is so sexy and considering she's a model they have an excuse so she not eye candy for the sake of eye candy, it's her job.

4) Chi from Chobits
Although it's established she is useless (in fact she's a burden) the series revolves around her so I can't say she's useless. With that in mind (excusing the fact she's a computer) Damn! Chi is fiiiiine. She is sexy as all hell and I have nothing more to say.

3) Sango from Inyuyasha
Simply put she is cool...not awesome or sexy just cool, although the giant boomerang on her back is ridiculous she is still a badass and she does contribute to the series by actually doing something which is why she is here instead of Kagome.

2) Rena from .Hack//Legend of the Twilight
Useful and although we never see her actual character, her unique avatar is certainly quite sexy. I just have nothing more to say other than...nice :P hehe.

1) Hinata from Naruto Shippuden
Ok soooo, she's usually only involved in filler but when shes part of the story she usually does something so it counts! Put quite simply, Hinata is awesome, she's shy she's sexy and...my god she-shes just great fuck Temari, Ino, and Sakura. Hinata is the best.

So that's my top ten anime girls, list your own top ten why dontcha and let me know what you think of mine.
