Memorial Day Quikie

*It's Memorial Day were I am so this will be a quick 2 article rather than 3 or 4

New Stitch Anime: A new anime will premiere in Japan that is a sequel of sorts to the cartoon Lilo and Stitch were they move to ANOTHER fictional town in Japan and they actually age about a year. In addition she will go to a new school, the series premieres July 6, however since I never saw the original series(s) most likely I will not give a crap if it airs in America.

Shave Yourself For Monkey D. Luffy?: Schick a shaving cream/razor company in Japan have started promoting One Piece shaving cream cans. Because of the popularity among male teens and males in their twenties they promoted their oh so many shaving cream cans to them. In addition they included in a limited number of cans holder cans, replacement blades, and accessory straps. Participants in the game could receive a towel or a Hawaiian shirt.

Cheerio My Good Man, How About Some Anime and Tea?

U.K. Anime?: A handful of animes were just licensed but not but Adult Swim or 4Kids (thank god) but by Beez entertainment which is a branch of Bandai established in the U.K. It is said that Beez will release Durarara!! (yep those two exclamation points are totally necessary...right?), Vampire Knight, Eden of the East, Mobile Suit Gudam 00, Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam: A New Translation. In addition it has licensed Baccano! aniume series and has added Outlaw Star to its anime line up. It's good news because countries like the U.K. and the U.S.A. often get screwed in a bad place with sharp objects when it comes to releases and translations.

Fanime Convention Across the Pond: Continuing with our U.K. theme it is confirmed that co-owner of anime studio Gainax (Hiroyuki Yagami) will be having a "more refined" Fanime convention as opposed to Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt. It is said the Project is suppose to be set in the early 1900's England which just leaves me flat out confused. Personally I'll stick to the conventions that feature Narutards like me, as well as Yoko and Misa cosplayers.

Tourism Targeted at Otaku's: Since I love repeating things I'll say it again, the city of Kobe is beginning to target tourism at Oatku's to go to Japan, why they need to do that I haven't a clue. The city of Kobe started airing 4 minutes clips on YouTube promoting tourism. The clip follows a young college student wondering aimlessly around they city and a chicken appears to guide her (I really wish I was making that up) with English subtitles it follows her and the chicken around the city. The short is insanely entertaining and made me want to watch Naruto The Abridged Series for some reason. However if I ever were to visit Kobe all I'm going to be thinking of is giant chickens in Kimonos.

Anime News and Quikie Review

Adult Swim MOAR JAPANIMA: Adult Swim could very well be your one stop spot for anime soon, having Bleach, premiering new episodes of FMA: Brotherhood, Cowboy Bebop, Ghost In The Shell, Inyuyasha and ANOTHER new anime called Kekkaishi. Premiering TONIGHT at 12:30 and re-airing at 4:30 it is worth a look see. The series revolves around Yoshimori Sumimura and Tokine Yukimura and are apparently some sort of magical samurais, protectors of their land. The series is aimed at teenage boys (five bucks says there is an awkward romance) and the manga is among the bestselling in Japan receiving some awards and frequently appearing on the bestseller list. Now if Adult Swim could just start airing Death Note I'd never leave Adult Swim ever again.

Hooray for Illegal: It is confirmed that an unauthorized manga scanning site is among the top 1000 visited everyday. It has around 4.2 MILLION unique visitors and 1.1 BILLION page views. Now this is good news/bad news for anime fans. In one case it means that there is hope for those of us who have low budgets and are unable to afford a weekly or even a monthly trip to the Manga/Graphic Novel section of Barnes & Noble (or whatever your local book store is). But on the other hand that means with something like this in the spotlight there could be an increase in the crackdown of copyright infringement for owners of the mangas (like Viz Media). For those that have money please support the official release or Chuck Norris will get you...I promise on that.

Best volume ever!

Anime NEWS

Bestselling Manga of the week (according to the NY Times)
1. Black Butler #2
2. Black Bird #4
3. Pandora Hearts #2
4. Naruto #47
5. Black Butler #1

Graphic Novel Fail and Win: The Twilight Graphic Novel (ohhhh I'm a vampire gonna suck your blood slpslpslpslp and maybe something else...ooooohh! Big snaps for me!!!) is back to number one on the seperate hardcover best seller list, because Twilight fans don't have enough Twilight stuff to put their load on, meanwhile real graphic novels continue to be ma--...this just in there appears to be Maximum Ride graphic novels as well, but this series is actually good.

Heil Crunchyroll!: Crunchyroll is streaming yet another new anime: Lilpri which is basically Yu-Gi-Oh only imagine it being good, and having The Dark Magician Girl as every single character. Yu-Gi-Oh hentai fans, rejoice. The series created by Sega (remember when they created good games?) is based off of the Sega trading card game and the story revolves around three girls, namely Ringo Yukimori, Leila Takashori, Natsuki Sasahara, who can transform into idol princesses.

Rainbow (no homo) Online: Funimation and Nippon Television Network have reached an agree in the online streaming of "Rainbow - Nisha Rokubo no Shichinin" starting June 1, Tuesday one hour after it brodcast is Japan FUNimation will brodcast it online with English subtitles. NTV is one of the top brodcast networks in Japan so them in partnership is sort of like Bleach meets One Piece only not quite as awesome.

My First Blog

This blog is dedicated to anime and nothing else...except that statement...With that out of the way let's get started.

Naruto Box Set 2: I finally got Naruto shippuden box set 2 and finished watching it and I have to say even though I've already read the manga and know the outcome it's very interesting to see it in action, the battle is interesting if not slightly slow paced, and it's fun to see Sakura ACTUALLY FRICKEN' DO SOMETHING...but that's what any anime hobo would say so I'm going to be a bit more creative. It's fun to see Sakura stand there with a kunai and let someone else (Granny Chio) use her as a puppet to attack. Ergo, SHES STILL JUST STANDING THERE WITH A KUNAI.

Bleach Volume 30: HOORAY FOR: filllleeeeer filling up our story its gonna be a damned long time before we get some ploo-oot-ooot (sing that to the tune of thriller and you'll get the joke). Seriously all that happened is we further established how much Rukia is suffering because of killing Kaien and I suppose dedicating basicaly an entire arc to that backstory wasn't enough. Seriously he's dead and we get how much of an impact Kaien had on Rukia can we move on. To put it quite simply it was a great read, but I felt like nothing happened, just a delay really.

*Bankai: SPOILER ALERT* (the most powerful of Bankai): Chad figures out that his powers are really Hollow meaning?...he was really a Hollow in a past life? I'm not sure they don't explain it erm...he gets killed...almost. Then we transition to Rukia who begins fighting someone, but after going into an enclosed area he pulls off his mask revealing himself to be Kaien :O dun dun duuunnnn! Rukia amazed engages Kaien in a conversation were he briefly explains that he ended up merging with the Hollow after all as part of Aizens experiments, but ended up overtaking the Hollow in his (the Hollows) wounded state. For a brief moment Rukia believes him, but then he tell her to bring the heads of her friends and she comes back to Earth (or Hueco Mundo whatever). They engage briefly in battle and he explains (after Rukia shines light on his face transforming him into a jar with two skulls in it) that in spirit and in body he's technically Kaien. Rukia then gets stabbed unable to attack because it IS Kaien and has a flashback in which explained Kaiens belief that a persons heart is between a friendship. Rukia then kills the Hollow realizing Kaien wouldn't mind. We end on a shot of Ichigo standing off to Ulquiorra Cifer.
